Three ultra distances, three Welsh mountains, sixty hours. What 333 taught me about breaking an impossible-looking day into the next hour only.
Three ultra distances. Three Welsh peaks. Sixty hours. On paper, 333 looks impossible — which is exactly why I wanted to do it. The trick is that you never actually run sixty hours. You run the next hour, sixty times.
Big goals fail when you look at them whole. The mind cannot hold sixty hours of effort, but it can hold the next checkpoint, the next ridge, the next mouthful of food.
There were moments in the dark, somewhere on the second mountain, where the only plan left was to keep moving. And that was enough. It usually is.
Whatever your version of 333 is — a project, a business, a recovery — break it until the next piece is small enough to start. Then start.
